The First 90 Days

After joining Always Best Care as a new franchise owner, your journey to success begins with ABCUniversity: a powerful, comprehensive training system that focuses on the operational activities of setting up, managing, and marketing your senior care agency.

ABCUniversity can be completed in as little as seven weeks and guides new franchisees from local and corporate perspectives. New owners will have an incredible opportunity to work with Always Best Care’s Executive Leadership Team, where they benefit from on-the-spot coaching, mentoring, and business-building advice.

We also provide resources to help new franchise owners launch their businesses quickly by providing helpful contacts at each state level as well as access to the nation’s top health care licensure consultants.

Our corporate and local support combination helps new franchise owners navigate a clear, proven path to success in the home care industry. It all starts with your first 90 days of training:

Pre-Training

The first part of the ABCUniversity focuses on operations-based training. New owners will experience a kick-off webinar, office setup, introduction to our caregiver training platform, senior community preparation, and account management services. During this phase of training, new owners will also complete critical insurance requirements, apply for non-medical licensing, order print and marketing materials for their business, and conduct a competitive analysis of their local market.

Classroom Training

Once pre-training wraps up, new owners will participate in five days of in-depth training at Always Best Care’s corporate campus, located in Roseville, CA. If COVID restrictions are still in place, we may consider a virtual training. During these training sessions, owners review and discuss critical topics like operations, marketing, caregiver onboarding, client management, and guidance on developing key strategic alliances in their market.

New owners will also learn from guest speakers, covering topics like veteran’s affairs, payroll, and business insurance. Additionally, trainees will tour skilled nursing facilities and senior communities in Sacramento if we are doing an in-person training. During this tour, new owners have an invaluable opportunity to speak with Executive Directors and Marketing Representatives to help better understand the industry. Here, owners gain access to valuable knowledge on how to develop relationships within their market.

This intensive week of training concludes with a group dinner attended by executive management, and an opportunity for new owners to meet with Always Best Care’s President and CEO, Jake Brown.

Field Training

Once classroom training is complete, new owners will return to their franchise location to meet with their coach. Field training is designed to help new franchisees get off to a quick start and includes:

  • Guidance on Building Relationships with Assisted Living Communities
  • Interviewing and Hiring Compassionate Caregivers
  • Referral Marketing
  • Networking Opportunities
  • Guidance with Public Relations

Field Training takes place over a three-day session, where the new franchisee will work with their Area Representative or National Director. This session includes:

  • A Review of Community Tours
  • Status Updates on the New Owner’s Caregiver Team
  • Discussion About New Franchisee Challenges
  • A Detailed Plan Incorporating Areas of Focus
  • A Written Field Training Summary
